We have a varied programme of walks in and around the Charnwood area led by our group members. These are Tuesday morning walks of around 6 to 7 miles in length and are likely to involve some uphill stretches, uneven ground as well as stiles.
If you are interested in a u3a walk it is best to first contact our Walking Groups Coordinator at WalkingGroups@charnwoodu3a.org.uk - he can then direct you to which of our walking groups is the most appropriate.
This group walks in all weathers unless it is deemed too dangerous (e.g. heavy rain, snow or even too hot). Details of the walks, including starting points, are sent to members of the group in advance.
It is advisable to wear sturdy walking boots and to have waterproofs plus, in the winter, warm clothing/hat/gloves or in the summer, sun protection sunglasses and hat. Please bring plenty of water and possibly a hot drink for our mid walk break.
