Charnwood u3a is a local organisation, run by our members, for our members.

We are a registered charity, founded in 1997 and affiliated to the Third Age Trust (the national representative body for local u3as). The u3a movement is a learning co-operative where members share many educational, creative and leisure activities. It is non-religious and has three main principles.

We are committed to being as accessible and inclusive as possible, treating everyone equally and with respect. We try as hard as we can to enable everyone to participate and to meet any challenges posed by advancing years or declining health.

Our main activities take place in groups which reflect the members’ interests. Each group is self-funding and there may be an additional charge to cover running costs. For all the details, click on the Groups menu at the top of the page.

Our members receive a newsletter each month and there is a members’ meeting on the second Wednesday afternoon of the month (except August). You're welcome to attend a meeting before joining our u3a.
