I.T. Support Events

Our Mission

These days, knowing how to use Information Technology is an essential life skill. Too often, though, it seems unnecessarily complex and can be immensely frustrating. But it doesn't have to be like that. The I.T. Support Team aims to show that, behind the wicked stepmother mask, your I.T. equipment is really a loyal Man Friday.

Our Events

We run two types of event: Fix I.T. Clinics and Master I.T. Workshops.

Fix-It Clinics are held in the John Storer House café every Tuesday morning from 10:30 am to 12 noon. One or two of the more knowledgeable members of the group will be available to hear about any little problems you may be having and suggest simple fixes. If you bring a recalcitrant mobile device along, we will fix it on the spot if we can; if not, we will offer advice or make a follow-up appointment.

Master-It Workshops are run occasionally according to demand. If you have little interest in the technology itself, but need to use a computer in your everyday life and want to feel more comfortable in front of the screen, these hands-on sessions are for you. They provide an opportunity to get a better understanding of the apps you use and to put that new knowledge into practice. You bring a laptop (or borrow one of ours) and we provide mentors to guide you through the learning process.
